In the mid-1830's, James H. Smith made the initial grant of 2/3 acres to form the cemetery.

The church was organized and located next to, but seperate from, the cemetery in September, 1841.

The main area of the cemetery was donated by
Alexander Flanagan-five acres on October 3, 1884,
and by Wilhelm Salobney-1.1 acres on May 4, 1888.

W. W. May and wife, S. G. May, donated 2  3/4 acres of land May 2, 1885 and an additional seven acres in 1896, comprising 15.40 acres of land.
